Let's read. Together.
There's power in community and wisdom in gaining knowledge and understanding. Let's combine them and grow. Together.
What to Expect
Each month, you’ll be presented with book selections and topics that range from faith, trauma, and deconstruction to reconstruction, identity, and belonging.
Approaching the book of the month with curiosity, compassion, and kindness, we’ll read with the intent to learn from the books and from each other.
You can choose to read alone, join a virtual reading session, or both. At the end of each month, we’ll meet to discuss. And all along the way, you’ll meet others in our community as we read, learn, and grow together.
Both the book club and benefits will grow along with each of us, and will be shaped by your valuable feedback and input.
If you're looking for a community and safe space to read, learn, and grow together, join us!

What We're Reading Right Now
Jan–Feb 2026
Holy Hurt
Hillary McBride
(description from publisher) Too often the institutions and communities that are meant to be the most holy in our lives end up deeply hurting us. Religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and faith-based wounds can leave lasting scars that impact every aspect of our lives.
In Holy Hurt, award-winning clinical psychologist Hillary L. McBride delivers a profound message: spiritual trauma is real, widespread, and has far-reaching consequences. More importantly, she provides hope and practical guidance for those seeking healing from religious trauma and spiritual abuse.
McBride expertly combines clinical research, trauma literature, and compelling interviews with experts to create a comprehensive guide for spiritual trauma recovery. Each chapter includes first-person accounts of healing and practices to help readers process their experiences and begin their journey toward wholeness.
